Health IT Workgroup
Effective May 2017, SHIP’s Health IT Workgroup (HIT) was disbanded and a new SHIP Data Governance Workgroup was created in its place. This new workgroup combines the efforts of the HIT and Clinical Quality Measures (CQM) Workgroups and the Data Element Mapping Subcommittee of the HIT Workgroup.
The purpose of the HIT Workgroup was to advise on and address the technology needs of SHIP. It was tasked with increasing data sharing, interconnectivity, analytics, and reporting between PCMH clinics and the Idaho Health Data Exchange (IHDE). Its primary goals were to:
• Improve care coordination through the use of electronic health records (EHRs) and to establish heath data connections between the Medical-Health Neighborhood (MHN) and the IHDE.
• Build a statewide data analytics system that tracks progress on selected CQMs at the individual patient level, regional level, and statewide.
The SHIP Data Governance Workgroup will combine clinical and health IT perspectives into one group and will support and advise on issues related to operationalizing the statewide data analytics system as well as establishing clinic connections with IHDE.
